

We’d received an email from Los Angeles late in the afternoon, the day before Good Friday. The hero image we’d been promised, could not be delivered on time. So we rolled-up our sleeves and decided that we’d make the artwork ourselves. Camped out in the studio over the Easter Long Weekend, and liaising directly with The Artist and his management team, and based on a very low-quality photograph, we produced our infamous ’portrait’ of Prince. (Along with a heavy folder of back-and-forth emails - the nose and moustache proving to be our biggest hurdles). We received sign-off on the artwork, just after midnight, on Easter Tuesday. Just in time to commence the national roll-out of the print and digital campaign for Prince’s ‘Welcome 2 Australia’ tour.
